About Alison

Alison lives in Woodbury with her husband, Garth, and their two sons, Nathan and Cooper. Nathan is now a sophomore at Stillwater Area High School and went to Lake Elmo Elementary and Oak-Land Middle School. Cooper is in seventh grade at Saint Croix Preparatory Academy.

During her 15 years in the Stillwater Area School district, Alison has chosen to get involved at every level – as a willing volunteer at her sons’ schools, active coordinator and supporter of activities and events and as a concerned parent who has closely followed district issues.

Early into her oldest son’s experience at Lake Elmo Elementary, she realized that most of the important decisions impacting students and staff were made by the School Board. That clearer vision gave Alison a new focus and determination to engage in district-level action advocating for students and staff.

From that moment forward, she has worked toward positive change in our schools by putting facts first and promoting grounded, realistic ideas to advance the district during a time of unique opportunity and growth. To help make it easier for other community members to engage in important ISD 834 conversations impacting their children and communities, she has dedicated a considerable amount of time to producing much-appreciated school board meeting summaries, called “What You Need to Know."

Alison draws on 10 years of expertise in marketing consulting and currently helps students do their best as an Educational Assistant.
